DOTHAN. . .Michael Wayne Graves, a resident of Dothan, died Tuesday morning, April 15, 2025, at his home. He was 72.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 19, 2025, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Chaplain Kathy Stumbaugh officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwood Cemetery, near Headland. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the mortuary in Headland.
Michael Graves was born in Birmingham and raised in Cold Springs, Alabama, son of the late Olvin Graves and Martha Fannie Lewis Graves. He served his country in the Army National Guard. Michael formerly lived in Cullman County, Alabama before moving to Dothan in 1980. A retired truck driver, Michael was an avid Alabama football fan. He was preceded in death by his brother, Joey Graves.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Anice Hodges Graves; a daughter, April Graves Watkins (Micah), Rehobeth, AL; two sons, Christopher Michael Graves, Dothan; and Jason Wayne Graves (Leah), Taylor, AL; a step-son, Ricky Lassetter, Dothan; a sister-in-law, Debra Graves, Cold Springs, AL; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law from the Hodges family, Janice Hodges Green and Diane Hodges and Joe Lane Hodges (Patricia); and mother of Michael’s children, Melissa Shapleigh.
