Billy James Oliver, 55, of Hartford, passed away at his home on May 19, 2026.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home with Brother Steve Etheridge officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. and continuing until service time.
Billy Oliver was born September 27, 1970 to the late Sam and Carol Tyson Hambright in Ft. Gordon, Georgia. After graduating from Chandler High School, Billy entered the Army. He later attended college and began a career in construction. Billy enjoyed all sports, especially Alabama Crimson Tide football, and was always quick to yell “ROLL TIDE!” He also loved fishing, his dogs, and spending time playing in casinos.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors to carry on his memory include his loving wife Julia Adams Oliver of Hartford; son, Kaleb James Oliver (Aubrey) of Hartford; sisters: Kendra Oliver-Boustedt (Bo), Kris Oliver Hammock (Mark); two nieces and other extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in Billy’s memory.
