Mr. Michael Denver Canaday, age 80, a resident of Dothan, died on Monday June 30, 2026, at Wesley Place in Dothan.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. with funeral services beginning at 11 a.m. Tuesday July 7, 2026, at Bethlehem Baptist Church(416 Bethlehem Rd., Midland City, Al) with Pastor Paul Edenfield officiating.  A private family graveside will follow at First Baptist Church Cemetery in Campbellton, Florida with Glover Funeral Home directing.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions can be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church, 416 Bethlehem Rd., Midland City, Al 36350 or to one’s favorite charity.

Mr. Canaday was born on May 11, 1946, in Cincinnati, Ohio.  He lived his early years in Tampa, Florida, Miami, Florida, Alford, Florida and moved to Dothan in 1984.  He was a graduate of Robinson High School in Tampa and the University of Florida. Mr. Canaday was a Landscape Architect working in Dade County, Florida and founded Michael Canaday & Associates in Dothan in 1982. One of his proudest achievements was being the original landscape architect for the Dothan Botanical Gardens. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Jeanette Calloway Canaday.

Survivors include: son, Shawn Canaday, Graceville, Fl.; sister, Patricia Collins, Jacksonville, Fl.; two brothers, Dennis Canaday, Dothan; Jeff Canaday, Washington State; several special nieces and nephews; two special friends, Sha’nah Martin, Dothan and Julie Bishop, Huntsville.
