Obituary from Holman Funeral Home of Ozark – Ozark, Alabama

Mr. Vernon Spencer Wilmoth, a resident of Ozark, died Sunday, May 10, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 74 years old.

In keeping with the wishes of the family, there are no public services planned for Mr. Wilmoth at this time. Holman Funeral Home of Ozark has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr. Wilmoth was born September 9, 1951 in Havre de Grace, Maryland to the late Louis Bernard Wilmoth and Margaret Elizabeth Richardson Wilmoth. Upon graduation from Bel Air High School in Havre de Grace, he went to work with the Maryland Highway Department where he worked as a heavy equipment operator until his retirement in 2007. Vernon moved to Alabama in 2019 to be close to his girls after the death of his wife, Sherry.  He enjoyed playing his guitar, singing, eating at the Waffle House and hanging out at the pawn shop. Vernon enjoyed his television shows, The Beverly Hillbillies and Reba were his favorites.   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Christina Anne Wilmoth and one brother, David Wilmoth.

Survivors include one daughter, Jennifer Lamore (Joe) of Ozark; four sisters, Louise Rexroth of Maryland, Robin Nickels of Pennsylvania, Sarah Wilmoth of Verbena, Alabama and Karen Barnvelle (Daren) of South Carolina; three brothers, L. B. Wilmoth (Theresa) of Virginia, Steven Wilmoth (Mary Ann) of Pennsylvania and Mark Wilmoth of Maryland; three grandchildren, Gavin Wilmoth, Logan Davies and Christian Wilmoth; two great grandchildren, Gage Wilmoth and Madelyn Wilmoth.
