Mrs. Angelin Helms Bonner, 90, passed away peacefully at Graceville Health Center in Graceville, Florida, with her loving daughters by her side.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Shiloh Baptist Church with Brother Gary DeBerry officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 AM and continuing until service time. Interment will follow in the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Bonner was born on September 29, 1935, in Hartford, Alabama, to the late Carlos Helms and Myrtie Jewel Palmer Helms. She spent many years working at the Van Heusen shirt factory while faithfully raising her two daughters.
She had a deep love for traveling across the country, especially while showing and grooming the horses she cherished so much. She also dearly loved her cats and treasured every moment spent with her family.
To those who knew and loved her, she was called Mother, Granny, Mimi, and Gran Gran — but no matter the name, she always knew she was surrounded by a loving family who meant the world to her.
Mrs. Bonner was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leo F. Bonner; and her granddaughter, Heather Elaine Enfinger.
She leaves behind a loving family to cherish her memory, including her daughters, Virginia Ann Miller of Hartford and Brenda Gail Whatley of Dothan; grandchildren, Brian Keith Simmons, Krystal Simmons Reid; great grandchildren: Cassidy Cobb (Noah), Danielle Farthing (Cory), Tyler Enfinger, and Logan Reid; and great-great-grandchildren, Cora Farthing, Addison Cobb, and Cash Farthing.
She will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her hardworking spirit, and the love she shared so freely with those around her.
