Obituary from Holman Funeral Home of Ozark – Ozark, Alabama

Mrs. Betty Lou Doster Warren, a resident of Ariton, Alabama passed away Friday, May 22, 2026, at her home.  She was 75 years old.

Funeral services for Mrs. Warren will be 11:00 A. M. Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from Calvary Assembly of God Church with Reverend Dr. Randy Adams officiating.  Interment will follow in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.  The family will receive friends in the church Tuesday from 10:00 A. M. until service time.

Mrs. Warren was born December 25, 1950 up on the hill at “the old home place” off County Road 15 in Ariton. She was the youngest daughter out of thirteen children to the late Oscar Wallace Doster and Zonie Nance Doster. She and her mother moved to Lakeland, Florida in 1960 where several siblings were already living. This is where she met her late husband “Buddy”. She was an avid fisherman, bowler and enjoyed spending time with all of her siblings and friends. Betty worked for Debbie’s Drive Service and the Polk County School Board in Lakeland. She moved back to Alabama in 1998 where she and her husband quickly became a part of the bowling community. She attended Calvary Assembly of God Church in Clio. After her husband went to meet Jesus, she continued bowling, fishing and quickly became a flower gardener. She enjoyed being out in her yard with her flowers.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emory Henry “Buddy” Warren; twelve sisters and brothers; and one great grandson.

She is survived by six children, Teresa McGehee of Ozark, Kimberly Warren of Ozark, Karen Jefferies of Ariton, Emory Warren Jr. (Debbie) of Ariton, Lee Wheeler (Ashley) of Midland City, and Shana Wise (Michael) of Skipperville; grandchildren, Kayla Rodgers (Travainta) of Pearland, Texas, April Thomas (Matt) of Brundidge, Justin Warren (Megan) of Mooresville, North Carolina, Loren Warren (Iris) of Ariton, Tyler Warren (Bella) of Ariton, Alex Jefferies of Ariton, Joshua Williamson of Lakeland, Florida and Sharadon Warren of Troy; twenty-three great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

The family would like to thank SARCOA, Dale Home Health and Community Hospice for all of their excellent and comforting help through this time in her life.
