Mrs. Ida Lee “Bubba” Boswell of Hartford, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2026 at Westside Terrace Nursing Facility. She was 96.
A Celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb with Reverend Jeff Harris officiating. Interment will follow at Christian Home Baptist Church Cemetery in Slocomb.
The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. and continuing until service time.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Christian Home Baptist Church: 409 Nathan Road Slocomb, AL 36375.
Ida was born on December 26, 1929, in Geneva County to the late Hosea and Trudie Owen Mills, she was a woman devoted to her faith and family. A lifelong member of Christian Home Baptist Church, she found great joy in her community and her work as a homemaker. Ida loved the simple pleasures of bowling and traveling, but her greatest happiness always came from spending time with her loving family.
In addition to her parents; her husband, Ray Boswell; sister, Pauline Deuerling; and brother, Ronald Mills all preceded her in death.
She is survived by her loving family; daughter, Donna Salyer (KR); sons: Ronald Sawyers (Janice), Larry Sawyers (Irene), Charles Ray Boswell (April); 15 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 26 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
