Obituary from Holman Funeral Home of Ozark – Ozark, Alabama
Mrs. Jeanette Calhoun Senn, a resident of Oakview Manor Health Care Center, passed away on the morning of June 17, 2026 at the age of 90 years old.
Funeral services for Mrs. Senn will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 22, 2026, from Center Ridge Baptist Church with Reverend Charlie Sanders officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends in the church Monday from 10:00 A.M. until service time.
Mrs. Senn was born February 29, 1936 in Ariton, Alabama to the late Johnny Oscar Calhoun and Lula Blackmon Calhoun. She married her husband, Leron Senn a Korean War Veteran, in 1955. During their marriage they were blessed with three sons: Stanley, Nelson and Timothy. Her love and generosity were always focused on her family and friends with no thought for her own needs and comfort. She was masterful at making and giving away pound cakes and pecan pies to all those standing in line for them. She retired from Fort Rucker in 1994 after a long Civil Service career.
Mrs. Senn was predeceased by her husband, Leron, who died in March 2020; by her father, Johnny Oscar Calhoun and her mother, Lula Blackmon Calhoun; a brother, Howard Calhoun; a sister, Anne Powell and a niece, Beverly Stevens. She is survived by her three sons, Stanley, Nelson and Timothy; grandchildren and great grandchildren; a niece, Audrey Powell; several nephews; a sister, June Johnson; and a life-long friend, Anne Crowley.
