Mrs. Laverne Sutton Pritchett, a resident of Ozark, passed away Monday, September 8, 2025, in Gadsden, Alabama. She was 93 years old.
Funeral services for Mrs. Pritchett will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 17, 2025, from Salem Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends Wednesday in the church from 10:00 A.M. until service time.
Mrs. Pritchett was born October 21, 1931 in Elamville, Alabama to the late Malcolm M. and Annie Jo Hornsby Sutton. She graduated from Ariton High School and was employed with Phillips Van-Heusen for more than forty years before retiring. Laverne was a member of Salem Baptist Church in Ariton. Mrs. Pritchett loved flowers, gardening and working in the yard. Her happiest days began when she became a part of the Pritchett family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lomax Pritchett; one brother, Hildridge Sutton; and two sisters, Martha White and Jeanette Wynn. She is survived by her sisters, Sarah Mabrey and Brenda Wilkinson; step-sons, Greg Pritchett (Sandra) and Gary Pritchett (Cindy); and sister-in-law, Patsy Sutton. A host of beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to special friends, John and Glenda Lynch, Evelyn Ward, long-time friend Theresa Jernigan, and to Gentiva Hospice of Dothan.
