Obituary from Holman Funeral Home of Ozark – Ozark, Alabama
Mrs. Loreta Ancheta Schmidt, a resident of Ozark, died Saturday, August 8, 2026, at her home. She was 77 years old.
Funeral services for Mrs. Schmidt will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, August 13, 2026, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Father Chris Boutin officiating. Interment will follow in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery in Clayton, Alabama, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Thursday from 9:30 A.M. until service time.
Mrs. Schmidt was born July 13, 1949 in the Philippines to the late Elpidio Ancheta and Teofila Cadiz Ancheta. She attended Feati University where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business. Loreta worked as a secretary in the Philippine Information Agency. She visited the United States in 1993 and loved it so much that she stayed. Loreta lived in Oregon for five years and relocated to Ozark where she met and married Wade Morrison. She worked at Oakview Manor Nursing Facility for twenty-one years until her death. Mrs. Schmidt loved to sing karaoke, cook and eat Fillipino food. Gardening and fishing were her passions. She was very organized and was very generous helping family and friends in the Philippines. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Wade Chester Morrison; the father of her children, Raymundo Agaab; and one sister, Rebecca Ancheta.
Survivors include, one daughter, Arlene Cebrano (Ruel); one son, Ariel Agaab (Luzviminda) all of Glendale, California; four sisters, Corazon Nadonga, Virginia Dejaresco, Teresita Ancheta-Albrecht and Elena Tamayo; three brothers, Rolando Ancheta, Armando Ancheta and Dante Ancheta; two grandchildren Lars Francis Agaab and Lance Franzel Agaab.
