Obituary from Holman Funeral Home of Ozark – Ozark, Alabama

Mrs. Marilyn Maxine Bright Irwin, a resident of Cowarts, Alabama, died Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at her home. She was 67 years old.

Funeral services for Mrs. Irwin will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 30, 2026, from Corinth Freewill Baptist Church with Reverend William Irwin and Reverend Donald Irwin officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends in the church Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until service time.

Mrs. Irwin was born July 16, 1958 in Dale County, Alabama to the late James Willie Bright and Annice Ruth McDaniel Bright. She attended Carroll High School. Following her marriage to Richard Irwin, they moved to Nashville, Tennessee where they lived while he attended ministry school. She worked alongside her husband as he furthered his career. Marilyn loved being outside and playing with her fur-babies. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Donald Allen Irwin; and her brother, James Bright.   Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Reverend Richard LaDon Irwin of Cowarts; two daughters, Tina Hardrick (Mark) of Panama City, Florida and Carrie Hardrick (Chad) of Cottonwood. Several grandchildren, two great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
