
Mary Edmondson Todd, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2025, in Dothan, Alabama, at the age of 88. Born on April 3, 1937, in Columbia, Alabama, Mary was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and sister, known for her thoughtful nature and unwavering dedication to her faith and family.
Mary was preceded in death by her devoted parents, Stephen Alexander Edmondson, Sr. and Ethel Milner Edmondson, her loving husband, Roel Wallace Todd, her cherished daughter and son-in-law, Beebe and Kenneth Etheredge, her dear son, Jeffery Wallace Todd, and her brothers, Billy Edmondson and Stephen Edmondson, Jr. Her life was a testament to the love she shared and the lives she touched, including those of her grandchildren, Kristin Crump (Jeffrey), Heather Todd, Kenny Etheredge (Katie) and Tyler Todd; and her great-grandchildren, Kinsley Crump, Hudson Etheredge, Presley Crump, Parker Etheredge, Cooper Etheredge, Cheyenne Hale, Wesley Hale, and Kayla Todd.
A member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church, Mary’s commitment to her faith was the cornerstone of her existence. Her involvement in church activities and her unwavering belief in the power of prayer and service shaped not only her life but also the lives of those around her. Mary’s love for her family was the heart of her world. She nurtured her relationships with the same care and attention that she gave to her faith, creating an unbreakable bond with those she held dear.
Mary’s interests extended beyond the walls of the church and her home. She had a passion for shopping, always on the lookout for the perfect gift to brighten someone’s day. Her love for photography was another facet of her generous spirit, as she captured countless moments of joy and togetherness, creating a cherished archive of family memories that will be treasured for generations.
Described by those who knew her as the epitome of thoughtfulness, Mary never missed an opportunity to lend a helping hand or offer a kind word. Her legacy is one of love and kindness, and she will be remembered for the countless ways she enriched the lives of others.
Funeral services for Mary will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, June 28, 2025 from the chapel of Ward Wilson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 1 PM until 2 PM, prior to the service at the funeral home.
