Mrs. Mildred Jeanette Peters Allen, a resident of the Pleasant Grove Community of Ozark, passed away Monday, October 5, 2026, in Flowers Hospital. She was 86 years old.
Funeral services for Mrs. Allen will be 2:00 P. M. Sunday, October 11, 2026, from Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Dennis Tew and Reverend Keith Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends in the church Sunday from 1:00 P. M. until service time. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Walker, David Martin, Bobby Farthing, Pat Teeter, Jason Kimel and Willie Turner. Honorary pallbearer will be Clayton Fuller.
Mrs. Allen was born June 27, 1940 in the Pleasant Grove Community of Dale County to the late Floyd Peters and Mildred Wallace Peters. She was a life-long dedicated member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where she enjoyed working with the children. She also enjoyed working in her yard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Lewie Arnice Allen; one sister, Lunette Chancey; and one brother, James Peters.
Survivors include three sons; Tim Allen (Patricia) of Ozark, Kevin Allen of Malvern, Alabama, and Craig Allen (Jan) of Clio; two grandchildren, Jacob Allen (Shelby) and Andrew Cooley (Ashley); three great grandchildren, Parker Dean Allen, Stevie Lane Allen and Louie Ray Allen; and one sister, Marie Peters of Dothan. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 1124 County Road 11, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
