Mrs. Nina Joyce Hartzog Bullard, a beloved mother, grandmother and friend, passed away September 14, 2026, at the age of 86.
A memorial service for Mrs. Bullard will be held 11:00 a.m. ET, Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at Turner Chapel in St. Luke Church, 1104 Second Avenue, Columbus, Georgia 31904. A private interment will be held at a later date in her hometown of Elamville, Alabama with Holman Funeral Home of Ozark in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Bullard was born July 24, 1940 in Ariton, Alabama to the late Calvin Grady Hartzog and Lillian Joyce Ketchum Hartzog. She was a graduate of Barbour County High School. Mrs. Bullard had a “green thumb” and loved working in her flower garden. She was dedicated to her family and was firm in her faith. Mrs. Bullard enjoyed reading her Bible every day. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Allen Bullard.
Survivors include her children, Christopher Timothy Sasser, Eve Sasser Kilpatrick and her husband Pat; grandchildren who she adored, Lillian Kilpatrick, Paul Van Kilpatrick IV and his wife Abbey.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Columbus Hospice, 7020 Moon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31909; to Meals on Wheels Ministry at St. Luke Church (address above); or to the Alzheimer’s Team at the Oaks at Grove Park Assisted Living, 1479 Grove Park Drive, Columbus, Georgia 31904.
