Obituary from Holman Funeral Home of Ozark – Ozark, Alabama

 Mrs. Rickey Lucille Browning passed away peacefully, March 10, 2026, at home in Ozark, Alabama surrounded by her loving family and devoted sitters.  She was 91 years old.

A graveside service will be held for Mrs. Browning 3:00 P.M. Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Pineville Cemetery in Pineville, Kentucky with Pastor Ron Howard officiating and Arnette Steele Funeral Home directing.  Holman Funeral Home of Ozark has been entrusted with the  local arrangements.

Mrs. Browning was born August 9, 1934, in Pineville, Kentucky, daughter of the late Austin and Daisy Madon.  Mrs. Browning spent the early years of her life in Rockledge, Florida raising her family and working at Golfview Elementary School.  Upon retirement she and her husband of 61 years thoroughly enjoyed living in both Rockledge, Florida and Pineville, Kentucky throughout the year enjoying friends and family.  She was a proud and loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, cousin and niece to her family.  Her Christian faith, gentle kind spirit, infectious smile, sense of humor and love of life made her so genuinely loved and a treasure to all.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Billy G. Browning and daughter Susan Nichols.

She is survived by her son Brent Browning of Ozark, Alabama; grandchildren Adam Nichols and wife Natalie of Morristown, New Jersey, Parker Nichols of Oregon, Marye Grace Sauermann and husband Brandon of Birmingham, Alabama, Anna Browning of Gainesville, Florida and Sara Browning of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; great granddaughter Vera Nichols of Morristown, New Jersey.

She will be deeply missed but her family takes comfort knowing she is now in the presence of her Savior, daughter Susan, husband and parents.
