Born on September 14, 1950, in Phenix City, Alabama,  to the late Selmer Rodney Bynum, Sr. and Lois Blonnette Smith Bynum. A proud graduate of Dothan High School and Wallace College, Sandra dedicated 39 years of her life to the nursing profession. Her compassionate spirit and creative touch were evident in her care for others, both in her professional role as an RN and in her personal life.

Her life was a testament to enduring love, as she found happiness again with her devoted husband of 19 years, John Michael Hornsby. Her love for order and organization was more than a preference; it was a reflection of her methodical nature, ensuring that everything around her was just right. Family gatherings were a highlight for Sandra, where she could be found surrounded by her beloved grandkids, sharing stories and creating memories. The beach held a special place in her heart, as did her appreciation for art, which mirrored her own creative soul.
