Obituary from Holman Funeral Home of Ozark – Ozark, Alabama

Mrs. Shirley Jeanette Nobles Cooper, a resident of Ozark, died Tuesday, May 12, 2026, in Dale Medical Center. She was 80 years old.

Funeral services for Mrs. Cooper will be 1:00 P. M. Thursday, May 14, 2026, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home of Ozark with Reverend Bill Hart officiating. Interment will follow in Concord Congregational Methodist Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.

Mrs. Cooper was born August 12, 1945 in Skipperville, Alabama to the late Alvin Ace Nobles Sr. and Laura Estelle Thompson. Mrs. Cooper worked tirelessly to take care of her family.  She would work multiple jobs and always made sure her girls had what they needed.  Shirley adored her children and grandchildren and spent many years looking after them. Cooking for her family whenever she had the opportunity made her happy. She loved working in her flower beds; she was very proud of them and loved showing them off to family and friends.  Football, well yes Alabama Roll Time all the way! Don’t get in her way during a game!  She would yell at the television as if she was the coach on the field. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Charles Cooper; one sister, Grace Nobles Hagler; and one brother, Ace Nobles, Jr.

Survivors include four daughters, Jenifer Richardson (Charles) of Skipperville, Amacie Smith (Stanley) of Ozark, Allice Burt of Ozark, and Rilda Cooper of Ozark; grandchildren, Zak Richardson, Noori Buchanan (Perry), Kirsten Davies, McKenzie Winn (Trey), Cooper Smith, Lara Lewis (Kyle), Hillaree Hendrickson (Edd), and Justin Blaha (Haley); great grandchildren, Zayden Fickle, Perry David Buchanan, Zoie Fickle, Colton Buchanan, Claudia Buchanan, Kyren Davies, Lilah Flynn, Grayson Winn, Easton Winn, Paisyn Compton, Aubree Hendrickson, Stella Hendrickson, Ian Blaha; and great-great grandchildren, Evani Cooks and Miles Fickle Davis.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made in her memory to Concord Congregational Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 1086 County Road 23, Ariton, Alabama  36311.
