Ms. Doris Alberta Sellers Brannon, age 97, a resident of Ashford, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:30pm on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at Faith Tabernacle Church with Brother Tim Simmons and Brother Greg Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Wicksburg Assembly of God Church Cemetery with Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends on Sunday at Faith Tabernacle Church one hour prior to the services, from 1:30pm until 2:30pm.
Flowers will be accepted.
Ms. Brannon was born in Wicksburg, Alabama on November 2, 1928, to the late William Green and Elvie Peters Sellers. She was raised in Wicksburg during her early years of life and later lived in the Lovetown community. She worked as a seamstress in the textile industry for Wex Tex in Ashford for forty-five years. She served in children’s ministry as a teacher for over fifty years, at Faith Tabernacle Church and Love Hill Assembly. She was a faithful member at Faith Tabernacle Church. Ms. Brannon was passionate about anything she did, she had a heart for others and loved to serve. She always put others before herself. Her love and legacy will forever be remembered by those who she loved and served.
Ms. Brannon is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Samuel Turmon Brannon; infant granddaughter, Pamela Jean Moore; great granddaughter, Brittany Hollis; son in law, Ralph Moore; three brothers; and five sisters.
Survivors include her two daughters, Deloris Wambles and Doris Moore, both of Ashford; six grandchildren, Buddy Moore (Connie), Sammy Moore (Amanda), Kenny Moore (Sonya), Wendy Burdeshaw (Greg), Jill Hollis, Jenny Hallford; thirteen great grandchildren; seventeen great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Buddy Moore, Sammy Moore, Kenny Moore, Greg Burdeshaw, Joseph Brackins, and Kade Blackmon. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Kameron Blackmon.
