Ms. Sally Collins Schenz, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at Flowers Hospital. She was 78.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at The Episcopal Church of the Nativity on Friday, March 6, 2026 at 2:00pm with Reverend Carl Saxton and Dee Koza officiating and Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends in the Parish Hall at the church on Friday from 1:00pm until 1:45pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the DHR/ Adult Service Unit, Attention: Summers Bell, 1605 Ross Clark Circle, Dothan, Alabama 36301.
Ms. Sally was born in Columbus, Georgia on July 16, 1947, to William Bruce and Mildred Cade Collins. In her early years of life, she grew up in Eufaula, Alabama. She graduated from Eufaula High School in 1965. After graduating high school, she attended Huntingdon College and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work. Ms. Sally made a career as a social worker with Houston County DHR for twenty-five years and retired in August 2010. She was always serving others and involved in any outreach opportunity with her church. Ms. Sally had a smile that would light up any room she was in and had a heart for others. Her love and impact of kindness she left on the lives of others will forever be remembered.
Ms. Sally is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Terry Schenz; and sister, Mildred Collins Bradley.
Survivors include two daughters, Margaret Schenz Powell (Stephen), Birmingham, and Sarah Schenz Griffin (Chris), Dothan; four grandchildren, Emma Rose Griffin, Christian Cade Griffin, Caroline Elizabeth Powell, Milly Katherine Powell; and special family friend, Summers Bell.
