Myra Webster Cobb, age 78, of Dothan, Alabama, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2026, in Cartersville, Georgia.
Born on January 7, 1948, in Bessemer, Alabama, to the late Alfred Dewey Shirley and Retha Lorene Mooney Shirley, Myra grew up with a strong work ethic and a warm spirit. She was a 1966 graduate of McAdory High School. After moving to Dothan, she built a successful career as an entrepreneur, acquiring and managing several popular local businesses, including Village Cleaners, Gilmo’s, and Alterations Etc. Outside of her business ventures, Myra was a passionate, lifelong fan of Alabama football who rarely missed a chance to cheer on the Crimson Tide.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry Cobb; her parents, Alfred Dewey Shirley and Retha Lorene Mooney Shirley; her sisters, Mary Lynch, Wilma Guy, and Judy Luster; and her brothers, J.M. Shirley, Eugene Shirley, Doyle Shirley, and Ronald Wayne Shirley.
Myra’s legacy lives on through her devoted family. She is survived by her three daughters, Michelle Craft of Dothan, AL, Tina Webster of Dothan, AL, and Crystal (Joshua) Holdridge of Canton, GA; five grandchildren, Hanah Carmichael of Lake View, AL, Jacob Craft of Dothan, AL, Tommy (Kayla) Fussell of Dothan, AL, Chloe Holdridge of Canton, GA, and Coy Holdridge of Canton, GA; five great-grandchildren, Collins Carmichael, Asher Fussell, Aiden Fussell, Kasen Carmichael, and Scarlett Fussell; her brother, Ray Shirley of McCalla, AL; her sisters, Ruth (Herman) Dodson of Bessemer, AL, and Joyce McDaniel of Verbena, AL; as well as many dear friends who will cherish her memory and miss her so much.
A Celebration of Life will be held on September 25, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Dothan Country Fellowship Church, 211 Johnny Murphy Road, Rehobeth, AL 36301.
