
Mr. Nolan Harrell, Jr., 76, a lifelong resident of Houston County, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2025, following an extended illness.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 10, 2025, at Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Reverend Larry Newton officiating and Glover Funeral Home of Dothan directing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to, Enhabit Hospice, 3379 W. Main Street, Suite B, Dothan, AL 36305.
Mr. Nolan was born September 6, 1948, in Dothan to the late Nolan Harrell, Sr. & Bessie Enfinger Harrell. He spent all of his childhood in Dothan and was a 1967 graduate of Dothan High School. Following school, he enlisted and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. After his time in the service, he returned home and worked as an Electrical Troubleshooter with Michelin Tire for almost 30 years, until his retirement in 2008. Nolan’s public service did not stop with the military, he proudly served as the Fire Chief of the Southern Junction Fire Department for 13 years. He enjoyed being outside, and most especially gardening. Nolan was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents; maternal grandparents, Joseph & Fronie Enfinger; his three sisters and one brother.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Martha Jean Harrell of Southern Junction; his brother-in-law, Johnnie Stuart (Theresa) of Dothan; his two brothers; several nieces and nephews.
