Alan John Greene, a resident of Dothan passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at a local hospital.


A private family memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Yellow Ribbon Fund.


Mr. Greene was born March 9, 1957 in Liverpool, England where he spent the early part of his life, apart from attending a boarding school for a short time in the U.S. He moved to the United States at the age of 17 and joined the US Air Force. Mr. Greene was a Veteran of many foreign wars, including the Gulf War and retired in 1998 as Master Sergeant. He moved to Dothan in 2015. Mr. Greene enjoyed woodworking, good scotch, soccer, and had a wonderful sense of humor.


Survivors include his children, Justin (Becca) Ubert, Lara (Terenzio) Baker, Sabrina (Leo) Guzman, Gillian (Mauricio) Rodriguez, Gilbert (Darla) Ubert, Sydney (Andrew) Kossowski, and Siobhan (Michael) Alvarez; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his parents, David (Rosemary) Greene and Lilian (Pete) Hanson; his brother, Colin (Candy) Weyrick; his sister, Janet (John) Heckman; and several nieces and nephews.
