Alberta C. Sims

 

Alberta C. Sims, a resident of Dothan, died Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Flowers Hospital. She was 90.

 

Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Burns Assembly of God Church Cemetery (Geneva Co.) with the Rev. Travis Free and the Rev. Ronnie Champion officiating. The family will receive friends from 8:45 until 9:45 a.m. Saturday morning at the funeral home.

 

Mrs. Sims was born on June 29, 1921 to James and Dollie Collins in Jackson County, Florida. She later resided in Slocomb before moving to Dothan. Mrs. Sims was a good Christian lady who always put others first. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.

 

She is predeceased by her husband, James Sims; 3 sisters and 1 brother.

 

Survivors include five children, Bobbie Shelley (Larry) of Dothan, Patricia (Walt) Middleton of Headland, James Sims of Dothan, Johnny Sims (Purnima) Sims of New Jersey and Mack Sims (Teresa) of Cowarts; 11 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; 1 sister, Eunice Champion of Pensacola, FL; several nieces and nephews.
