ALFRED WESLEY FAISON
KINSEY…Alfred Wesley Faison, a resident of Kinsey, died early Monday evening, August 5, 2013, at his home. He was 75.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 7, 2013, in the Kinsey Baptist Church with Reverend Brad Hardy officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 P.M. Wednesday in the church sanctuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The National Prion Disease Pathology Surveillance Center, Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease Foundation, c/o NPDPSC, 2085 Adelbert Rd, Cleveland, OH 44106, “In Memory of Alfred W. Faison,” or Covenant Hospice, 104 Rock Bridge Rd, Dothan, AL 36303.
Mr. Faison was born and reared in the Blackwood Community of Henry County, son of the late Jerry Lone Faison and Velma Flocine Johnson Faison. He was a 1956 graduate of Midland City High School and attended Wallace Community College. Mr. Faison served his country in the Army National Guard in the Headland unit which was activated during the Berlin Crisis. He lived in Dothan before moving to Kinsey in 1963. He retired from the Alabama State Department of Transportation as an Inspector/Survey Party Chief. Mr. Faison was a member of the Kinsey Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Owens.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Martha Sanders Faison, Kinsey; a daughter, Kelli Dahl and husband, Mike, Birmingham; two sons, Kevin Faison, Kinsey; Keith Faison and wife, Cathy, Pansey, AL; a sister, Judy Faison Carr, Dothan; a brother, Gene Faison and wife, Nancy, Enterprise; four grandchildren, David Dahl, Justin Dahl, Ryan Burgess, and Tracy Suggs and husband, Jeremy; two great-grandchildren, Gracie and Logan Suggs; brothers-in-law, Ronnie Sanders and wife, Cheryl, Dothan; R.E. Johnson, Auburn; a sister-in-law, Jeannia Sanders, Slocomb; several nieces and nephews.
