Alice “Faye” (Clemmons) Windham, 85, a lifelong resident of Ashford, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Southeast Health following a brief illness.


Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 1, 2024, at Glover Funeral Home with Brother Joel Waller officiating. Burial will follow at Ashford City Cemetery with Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, February 29, 2024, from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m.


Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to, the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692, or the Muscular Dystrophy Association, INC, 1016 W. Jackson Blvd #1073, Chicago, IL 60607.


Faye was born March 1, 1938, in Ashford to the late Carl O.D. & Alma Ezella (Cox) Clemmons. She spent her entire life in Ashford, attending school and later graduating from Ashford High School. Following high school, she pursued a career in cosmetology and attended Wallace Community College. After finishing school, she began working at “Helen’s Beauty Shop” in Ashford, where she was employed until she purchased the salon from Helen Jones and continued to work up until her retirement. Faye enjoyed spending time with her family and her special friend group known as the “Beauty Shop Girls”. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.


She is preceded in death by, her parents; a husband; two brothers, Phillips Clemmons, and Bobby Ray Clemmons; a sister, Wanda (Clemmons) Dupree; and a nephew, Bobby Ivey.


She is survived by her son, Ray Windham (Michelle) of Dothan; two sisters, Penny Faison (Dennis) of Ashford, and Shirley Ivey of Tampa, FL; a brother, Jimmy Clemmons of Ashford; one grandson, Dillon Windham; a sister-in-law, Sophia Clemmons of Dothan; and several nieces and nephews.


Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the “Beauty Shop Girls.”


The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Morris, Dr. Skettini, and the staff of Southeast Health 6 East for the love and compassion shown to their loved one during this time.
