Alice Taylor Collins left this earth on February 1 after a valiant struggle with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. She was received into heaven by her loving mother Eula Taylor Collins and her very special aunt and uncle Jimmie and Charles Cherry.

Alice was born March 21, 1950 and grew up in Taylor AL. Alice graduated from Dothan high school and then received her BS and Masters degrees from Troy University. She embarked on a memorable 33 year career as a teacher, coach and guidance counselor. Putting her heart and soul into every endeavor, Alice truly, and forever, enriched the lives of hundreds of Wicksburg students.  Her profound, lasting impressions on their lives can be attested to by their outpouring of enduring love and support long after graduation. Following her retirement, Alice continued to touch student’s lives as a sales associate for her friend Clyde Yelverton, Jostens publishing co. In her "spare" time, Alice pursued her love of gardening, decorating, and especially her passion for spoiling and caring for her Coco. Alice Taylor Collins’ impeccable work ethic, unquestionable integrity, and tenacious devotion were and will continue to be phenomenal inspiration for all of us. Alice was a Methodist, loved to have a good time, loved Hunt’s hotdogs and oysters and was a war eagle fan who could still root for Alabama as national champions.
