Allen "Little Bird" Tison, a resident of Dothan, AL, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017 at a local hospital. He was 65 years old.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 20, 2017 at Memphis Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Tate, Rev. Benny Reynolds, and Rev. Jerry Grandstaff officiating. Burial will follow in Selma Baptist Church Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 2-4:00 p.m. on Sunday at Sunset Funeral Home.
Mr. Tison was born April 11, 1951 in Dothan, AL and resided here all of his life. He was a 1972 graduate of Rehobeth High School and was employed with Houston Seat Cover for 20 years and later with Pemco retiring in 2013 with over 21 years of service. Allen was very adventurous and loved stock car racing, go-cart racing, and especially riding his motorcycle. He also enjoyed refurbishing old cars and was very fond of working on his old Camaro. Allen was a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association since 1978 as well as the Faith Riders Motorcycle Ministry. His true passion was sharing God's word and the life of Christ with everyone he met.
Mr. Tison was preceded in death by his parents, James Earl and Opal Merle Tison, and his brother, Mickle Tison.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Tison; his sister, Julia (Rex) Ward; his brothers-in-law, Johnny (Joan) Hughes and Don Hughes; his sisters-in-law, Sherry Icenogle, Evelyn Ross, and Bonnie Shepherd; several nieces and nephews including, Jessica Buker, Rhonda (Mark) Robertson, Chris (Robbie) Shepherd, and Tony (Tiffany) Hughes; great-nieces and nephews, Jakob and Jessa Buker, Laci Robertson, Cory Coffin, and Brody Shepherd.
Serving as active and honorary pallbearers will be members of the Faith Riders.
