Alma Brown of Cowarts, passed away Friday, September 3, 2021, at the age of 87.
Alma was born to the late William Jeff Lewis and Ida (Leger) Lewis on June 28, 1934 in Houston County Alabama. She was a member of the Love Hill Assembly of God Church located in Love Town. Alma continued to be a devoted wife for 47 years after Bill’s passing in 1974. She loved to garden, play word games, and read her beloved Bible. Her family will remember her as a loving sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William Jeff and Ida (Leger) Lewis; husband, Willie G Brown; and brother, Edmond Lewis.
Survivors include her son, Jody Brown (Mysie); grandchildren, Josiah Brown and Alyssa Townsell (Johnathan); great-grandson, Wyatt Townsell; brothers, Charles Lewis (Larnett), Hershell Lewis (Janice), James Lewis (Jean); sisters, Marie Weaver, Lynda Webb (Larry), Martha Simon (Johnny), Marilyn Tyler (Vic), and Barbara Lewis (Mary Ann); sister-in-law, Carolyn Lewis; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Love Hill Assembly of God Church located in Love Town, Sunday, September 5, 2021, at 3 PM with Reverend Hershell Lewis Jr. officiating and Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held at the church, one hour prior to the service with burial at Love Hill Assembly of God Church Cemetery.
Flowers will be accepted or a contribution to the Love Hill Assembly of God Church in memory of Alma Brown.
