Alton Maurice Burbank, age 82 of Webb, passed away late Saturday evening, June 12, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his loving family and under the care of First Choice Hospice.
A gathering for family and friends will be from 5pm until 7pm on Thursday evening, June 17, 2021 in the Chapel at Family First Funeral Care. Immediately following the gathering, beginning promptly at 7pm, a small, intimate farewell service will be held for Mr. Alton. He will then be taken to Eustis, Maine, where on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at 2pm (EST), he will be buried beside his mother and father in the historic Flagstaff Cemetery. Born September 9, 1938 in Dead River, Maine, to the late Clyde Linwood and Lillian Grace Sampson Burbank. He was a long time Service Manager for Sear’s & Roebuck for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, along with woodworking. Of all the many things that he enjoyed, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, was his favorite pastime. Mr. Alton moved to Webb 20 years ago and was of the Christian faith.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Alton was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers; he is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Stacy and Woodie Whiddon of Webb, and Susan Martinez of Orlando, FL; a son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Amanda Burbank of Rehobeth. Mr. Alton is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 13½ great-grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and others that loved him.
