Our sweet precious Ivey went to her heavenly home on June 13, 2021.  Alvalene “Ivey” Reynolds age 87 started her eternity with Jesus at Enterprise Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Ivey’s life will be celebrated on June 15, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Revered Joe Butryn officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until service time.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ivey’s honor may be made to: Bethlehem Family Camp in Bonifay, Florida, c/o Andy Barclay, 5950 Pinedale Court, Harrisburg, PA 17111 or website: bethlehemfamilycamp.org.

Ivey is preceded in death by her parents, R.D. Jackson and Gertrude Jackson, brother, Billy Ray Jackson, husbands, John “Pete” Dunaway, Sr. and the Reverend Jack Reynolds.

Survivors include Ivey’s children, Cindy Dunaway, John Dunaway (Anita), Tommy Dunaway (Shawn), Tammy Deese, Enterprise, AL, Marcie Reynolds, Madison, AL, Debbie Lindsey, New Brockton, AL, and Kent Reynolds, Dothan, AL; nine grandchildren, April Dunaway Wise (Chad), Brandi Dunaway Maloy (Josh), Brooke Dunaway Alford (Patrick), Enterprise, AL, Brett Dunaway (Caroline), New Brockton, AL, Blake Dunaway, Houston, TX, Bryce Woodham, Ozark, AL, Hailey Woodham, Enterprise, AL, Victoria Reynolds, and Kendall Reynolds, New Brockton, AL; five great-grandchildren; and siblings, Peggy Mixon, New Brockton, AL, Lou Meredith, and Carl Jackson (Brenda), Enterprise, AL, and special family friends, Joe Butryn (April) and their children, Haleigh Butryn Watkins (Christian) and Marissa Butryn, Crestview, FL.

Ivey leaves behind a legacy built by faith, love, and devotion to her family and friends.  Ivey faithfully served by her husband’s side, the Reverend Jack Reynolds in the United Methodist Church and other ministries for over 25 years.  She was not only a wonderful mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren, but served as that mother figure for so many more families throughout her lifetime.  Ivey left a lasting impact on the world around her, by endlessly praying for her family, friends, and even strangers, generously giving her time and resources for those in need, and offering a welcoming smile and open heart to those around her.  As Billy Graham once said, “the greatest legacy one can pass on to one’s children and grandchildren is not money or other material things accumulated in one’s life, but rather a legacy of character and faith.”  Ivey certainly passed on this legacy of character and faith to her family and friends.  In Ivey’s memory, let’s all be more concerned with the footprint and legacy we leave our family and friends and ensure that it is a legacy of love and faith.

The family thanks Enterprise Health and Rehabilitation Center for the care Ivey received.  Ivey and her family would not have made it through the last two years without the angels on Hall 3 who cared for and loved our sweet Ivey, especially Mrs. Ann Rodgers and Ms. Mary Rogers.

You may sign the register book or send condolences to the family at our website:   www.searcyfuneralhome.com .
