Alvie Merle Scott, of Dothan, passed away Sunday May 7, 2017 at Westside Terrace. He was 99.

Graveside services will be held 10 am Wednesday May 10, 2017 at Memory Hill Cemetery with Rev. Woody Farrington officiating.

Mr. Scott was born in Anson, Texas on February 27, 1918 where he lived most of his earlier years. In the early 1940s, he moved to Phoenix, AZ where he met and married Marcella Virginia Scott. In 1970 he married Harrett (Sue) Scott who predeceased him in 2015. He was involved in the food broker industry for over 30 years. Mr. Scott enjoyed the outdoors and fishing with his family and friends. He was a member of the Phoenix Rotary Club and St. Paul's United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his 2 sons, John Scott and Michael Scott; his daughter, Kathy Turner; his grandchildren, Michelle, Aaron, Crystal, Barbara, Trisha, and Derrick; his great-grandchildren, Katarina, Ashley, Aaron Jr., Brandon, Emma, Audrina, Glen, and Andrew; and several nieces and nephews.
