Angela Dawn Snellgrove McDaniel, 51, of Westerville Ohio, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2013, at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. Dawn was a loving partner and mother that left us too soon. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege to have known her. She was born June 15, 1962 in Troy, Alabama.
Dawn was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Luther and Nell McEntyre; paternal grandparents, Jack and Juanita Snellgrove; sister-in-law, Lynn Snellgrove; and cousin, Samantha Register.
Dawn is survived by her partner of 17 years, Terri Suzanne Moore; her son, James Michael McDaniel, Jr.; her parents, Rex and Charlotte Snellgrove; her brother, James Neil Snellgrove; nephew, James Quinton Snellgrove; niece, Rebecca Ann Snellgrove; and a host of loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Dawn was a registered organ donor and has been matched with four recipients. The following script was read in the operating room: She was the most talented florist and the most beautiful bloom in the bouquet. She was her Daddy’s little girl, her partner’s best friend, and a tireless supporter of her son (whom she calls her single greatest achievement). She was the best mom in the world that truly believed in the unlimited potential inside all of us. She was a sassy Southern woman who loved to laugh and cook. She was a warm hostess who welcomed all into her home and her heart. She stood out in any room, especially any room filled with beautiful girls. She made everyone in her life feel special.
A memorial service will be held at Ward Wilson Funeral Home, 2414 Hartford Highway in Dothan, AL on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at noon.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to any of the following organizations:
