Angie Lee Palmore

A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at 11am in the Sunset Memorial Park Chapel with Pastor Larry Anderson Officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior.

Angie Lee Palmore, a beacon of light and love, whose smile was as radiant as the fashions she adored, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2024, at the age of 90 in Dothan, Alabama. Born on October 10, 1933, in Edwards, Mississippi, Angie was a woman of exceptional warmth and zest for life who left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Angie's journey took her from the Southern charm of Jackson, Mississippi to the bustling energy of New York, where she lived for the majority of her life, embracing the city's vibrant culture and fashion scene. In the 1980s, she brought her spirit and style to Dothan, where she became a beloved member of the community. At Dillard's, Angie was more than just an employee; she was a fashion guide, helping countless individuals find their perfect style with her keen eye and creative touch. Following her retirement, she continued to serve others as a caregiver, offering comfort and companionship to the homebound with her characteristic grace and kindness.

Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was a member of Harvest Church, where she found great joy in fellowship and service. Angie's creative soul found expression not only in fashion but also in the beautiful spaces she designed and the gardens she tended with loving care. She had an exceptional talent for interior design, and her home was a reflection of her personality—warm, inviting, and always ready to welcome friends and family.

Angie's love for life was matched only by her love for people. She was a consummate hostess, known for her delightful cooking and her natural ability to entertain, creating memorable experiences for all who had the pleasure of her company. Her adventurous spirit led her to travel, sharing moments of discovery and joy with those she held dear. Her most favorite was setting sail on cruises to enjoy the open sea with those she loved.

Described by those who knew her best as friendly, creative, and adventurous, Angie's sassy and caring nature made her a cherished presence in the lives of many. Her ability to connect with others, her willingness to lend an ear or a helping hand, and her unwavering optimism will be deeply missed.

Angie was the loving matriarch of a large family that included her devoted brother, Ralph (Dale) Stamps of Dothan, AL, and her sister, Verteal (Jacob) Bell of Jackson, MS. She was a beloved sister-in-law to Catherine Stringer of Dothan, AL, Thelma, and Lula Stamps of Jackson, MS. Her legacy of love and laughter will live on through her extended family of nieces, nephews, and many loving family members. Angie was preceded in death by her cherished husband of 53 years, Lonnie Palmore; her parents, Allison and Leora Moffitt Stamps; and her eight siblings.

Angie Palmore's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with threads of kindness, beauty, and adventure. She approached each day with a heart full of gratitude and a soul full of song. As we say farewell to this remarkable woman, we celebrate the countless ways she brightened our world. Her memory will continue to inspire us to live fully, love deeply, and dress splendidly.

Angie's life will be honored in a service that reflects the joy she brought to all of us. As we gather to share stories and laughter, we will remember Angie not for the silence of her passing but for the symphony of her life—a life lived with passion, creativity, and an unending capacity for love.
