ANITA DAWN McCOY
Abbeville….Anita Dawn McCoy, passed away on Friday night, September 13, 2019, at the Henry County Health and Rehab, following an extended illness. She was 80.
Memorial Services will be held 3:00 P.M. Sunday, September 15, 2019, in the Newville Baptist Church with Reverend Norman C. Simmons officiating. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. Sunday in the church sanctuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Newville Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 13, Newville, Alabama 36353.
Mrs. McCoy was born in the Tumbleton Community of Henry County, near Headland, daughter of the late Luther Ward and Lettie Mae Davis Ward. She lived in Newville most of her lifetime before moving to Dothan about twelve years ago, and recently to Abbeville. She is retired from Wex-Tex in Headland, as the manager of the sewing department. Anita is also a member of the Newville Baptist Church.
Surviving relatives include her loving husband of sixty-three years, Fred Malcom McCoy, of Abbeville; her sons, Rodney McCoy (Pam), of Dothan, and Mike McCoy (Wendy), of Newville; her grandsons, Jason McCoy (Tiffany), of Dothan, Justin McCoy (Jennifer), of Newville; a granddaughter, Jessica Blount (Kyle), of Abbeville; a great-grandson, Hudson McCoy, of Dothan; a sister, Linda McClendon, of Abbeville.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Southern Care Hospice and to the Henry County Health and Rehab for the compassionate care given to Mrs. McCoy and the family through this time.
