Ann Kelsoe, age 90, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Thursday, June 4. Annie Merle Chancey was born November 5, 1924 in Enterprise, Alabama, to James Walton and Lettie Byrd Chancey. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, James Edwin Chancey, Sr. and Wendell Curtis Chancey and sister, Agnes Louise Warren.
In 1943, Ann married the love of her life, James Clyde Kelsoe, who died in her arms in 1984.
A graduate of Coffee County High School and lifelong resident of Enterprise, Ann had many decades of long friendships, including one special friend, Max H. Watkins Sr., who preceded her in death.
Surviving to celebrate her life and cherish her memory are her nieces and nephews and their families, who knew and loved her affectionately as “Aunt Ann”. Aunt Ann leaves this earth a better place with a legacy of family, laughter, faith, hope and love of Jesus Christ.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 13 at 11:00 am, Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory, Enterprise Chapel, with Reverend Billy Luttrell, First United Methodist Church, officiating. A graveside service will follow immediately at Meadowlawn Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday at 10:00 am until service time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The First United Methodist Church, 217 South Main Street, Enterprise, Alabama 36330.
