ABBEVILLE. . .Ann Puckett Anderson, a resident of Abbeville, died Monday afternoon, June 26, 2017, at her home. She was 80.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, June 29, 2017, in the White Oak United Methodist Church, Eufaula, with Reverend Glenda Carlson and Reverend Donna Coty officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Thursday in the church sanctuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the White Oak Methodist Cemetery Fund, 4180 Highway 431, South, Eufaula, AL 36027.
Mrs. Anderson was born in Panama City, Florida and moved with her family to Phenix City, Alabama as a child. She was a graduate of Central High School in Phenix City. Mrs. Anderson served her country in the United States Navy. Mrs. Anderson graduated from La Mesa Community College in San Diego, California where she received a degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was formerly employed at the Henry County Nursing Home in Abbeville. Mrs. Anderson was a member of the White Oak United Methodist Church where she served as church pianist and was also a former member of the Abbeville United Methodist Church where she served as pianist. In earlier years, she played the piano for various gospel groups.
Mrs. Anderson is preceded in death by her father, Richard Puckett, her mother, Lucille Holland Pendleton, her step-father, George William Pendleton, a brother, Charles Puckett and her grandmother, Irene Holland.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Robert James (Andy) Anderson; four daughters, Theresa Savell (Tim), Headland; Barbara Anderson, Abbeville; Diane Jones (Kevin), Wicksburg; and Robin Anderson, Abbeville; a son, Robert James Anderson, Autsin, TX; a sister, Elizabeth (Libby) Matthews, Abbeville; nine grandchildren, Ginger Burgess (Ian), Erin Bodie (Mark), John Savell (Teri), Dylan Moat, Kristina Moat, Emily Jones, Jared Anderson, Avery Anderson, and Joshua Anderson; four great-grandchildren and one on the way.
