Anna Kaitlin "Katie" Tidwell, 16, of Midland City passed away Saturday, December 17, 2011 at a local hospital.
Funeral services will be held 2 pm Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Edenfield and Rev. Brad Battles officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Monday at the funeral home.
Katie was born December 30, 1994 in Dothan and resided in Midland City all of her life. She attended Dale County High School and was an honor student in her junior year. She was in the marching band on the drum line and the dance line. She was also involved with the yearbook staff, the Beta Club, the school chorus, and the Future Business Leaders of America. Katie was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her grandfather Nathan Wilven Tidwell.
Survivors include her parents Calvin Dewyatt Tidwell of Dothan and Julie Thompson (Woodie) Shaver of Midland City; brothers, Stephen Elliott and John Wesley Shaver; grandparents, Brenda Tidwell of Dothan, June and Wesley Thompson of Midland City; aunts and uncles, Jill (Adam) Bruhn of Midland City, Thomas (Karen) Tidwell of Dothan, David (Rebecca) Tidwell of Daphne, AL, and Paula Lott of Dothan; several special cousins, Judson, Beth, Victoria, Maycie, Trent, Ashlyne, Bo, and Maddie.
Honorary pallbearers will be the past and present Dale County High School Drum Line and Flag Corps.
