HEADLAND. . .Anne Burnham Davis, a resident of Headland, died unexpectedly Saturday morning, September 23, 2017, in a Dothan hospital following a brief illness. She was 71.


            Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, September 25, 2017, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Neil Dodson and Reverend Phil Craddock officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M Monday at the mortuary.


            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wiregrass Humane Society, P.O. Box 1045, Dothan, AL 36302.


            Anne Davis was a lifelong resident of Headland, daughter of the late James Horace Burnham and Willie Belle Carr Burnham. She was a 1964 graduate of Headland High School and attended Wallace Community College. Mrs. Davis retired as an Assistant Cashier from the Headland National Bank. She was a member of the Headland United Methodist Church. Mrs. Davis enjoyed cooking, quilting and painting, and loved her grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a special aunt and uncle, Corene and Woodrow Grantham.


            Surviving relatives include her husband, Billy G. Davis, two daughters, Betsy Parris and Annie Atwell; and a son, Andy Davis (Joy), all of Headland; a brother, Jim Burnham, Headland; five grandchildren, Haylee Davis, Andrew Davis, Ella Parris, Mason Parris and Harper Atwell; nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by her special canine companions, Lucy and Lady Bug.
