Annette was born in Dothan, Alabama on December 6, 1936. She was the ninth of ten children born to Arthur and Pearl Rhynes. She was a graduate of Carver High School. Annette attended Alabama A & M University for several years but completed her college education at Cheyney University in Cheyney, Pennsylvania, where she received a B.S Ed.
After leaving Alabama A & M, she moved to New York City with her sister Barbara Faye Rhynes Key. There she met the love of her life, George Wallace, Jr. The two of them later joined in holy matrimony. To this union were born two children, a daughter, Tracy F. Wallace and a son, Mark R. Wallace.
Once Annette’s children were born, she and her husband resettled to Chester, Pennsylvania and finally to Malvern, Pennsylvania.
She began her teaching career in the Chester Upland School District in Chester, Pennsylvania. Teaching elementary children was both her passion and her calling. After 24 years in the school system, both she and her husband, George retired and resettled in her native hometown, Dothan, Alabama. Upon returning to Dothan, Annette joined Greater Beulah Baptist Church where she remained a faithful member until her passing.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving and devoted husband of 64 years, George Wallace, Jr; daughter, Tracy F. Wallace of Dothan, Alabama; son, Mark R. (Jennifer) Wallace of Malvern, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, Cameron and Peyton Wallace of Malvern, Pennsylvania; a host of loving nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
