Annie Mae Pierce, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2019. She was 76.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, October 10, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Park Chapel. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Mrs. Pierce was born on September 2, 1943 to the late Joe Poke and Elma Georgia (Tullis) Poke in Newville, Alabama where she attended Newville High School. She worked at Ansell Corporation for a short period of time and then decided to become a stay at home mother. She enjoyed taking care of her home and making jewelry. She was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Newville.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two of her daughters, Soheilia Pierce and Phyllis Ann Poke; and two brothers, Dobbie Frank Poke and Roger Lee Poke.
She leaves to cherish her special memories, three daughters, Prency Poke and Wayne Taylor of Macon, Ga., Sonja Drayton of Macon, GA and Paula (Lynn) Taylor of Warner Robins, GA.; three sons, Joseph Drayton, Anthony (Linda) Pierce and Lashawn Pierce, all of Dothan, AL; one sister, Erie C. (Poke) Simpson of Merritt Island, FL; one brother, Walter Poke of Newville, AL; fifteen grandkids; twenty-two great-grandkids; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends that will miss her dearly.
