Annie Pearl Chapman was born October 11, 1932, and departed this earthly life on January 11, 2016, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, Alabama, at the age of 83, after a brief illness. She touched many of lives and was loved by all who met her.
Annie Pearl was born to the late Wesley and Annie Mae King of Houston, County.
Annie Pearl received her formal education from the Houston County School system
After accepting Christ as her personal savior, at an early age she united with Nichols Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church presently known as Stringer Street A.M.E. Church. She was a life member of Stringer Street A.M.E. Church. She was a faithful member of the senior choir, and Missionary Society. For her dedication, she was honored for the longest Continuous Membership Award.
Annie Pearl was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Charlie Chapman, and to this union four children were born.
Her career life includes working in the manufacturing field, she worked with Dothan Pajama Factory and later with Ansell from which she retired.
Predeceased by her husband Charlie Chapman, her parents; Wesley Annie King.
Her siblings; Wesley King, John Henery King, Lemy King, Hurbert King, Inez King, Burnell Diaz, and Burnice Holder.
Memories of Annie Pearl will forever be cherished by her loving family, two daughters;
Teresa (Terry) and Felicia. Two sons; Charles Kenneth Chapman, and Reginald Chapman. Two Grandsons she raised as her own; Corderyl Chapman, and Keyton Hardin. A step-son; Charles (Jonie) Underwood of St. Petersburg, FL. A loving Brother, Herbert King, Atlanta, GA. One Sister In-law; Carrie King, Atlanta, GA.
Six Grandchildren; Pasha, Kenneth, Rasheeda, Ryan, Brannon, and Bruce.
Six Great-Grandchildren; Eugene and Ramiah Leonard, Taylor and Tyler Fryer, Prestin and Kareela Chapman. Two Devoted Nieces; Wanda Payton and Joyce (Sam) Perryman, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Friday, January 11, 2016 at Stringer Street African Methodist Church with Dr. Fredrick D. Sherrod III officiating. Burial will follow at Gates of Heaven Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 10, 2016 from 5-7 pm, at Ward-Wilson Funeral Home, and is accepting flowers.
Active pallbearers will be: Charles Brady, Willie Brady, Rufus Jenkins, Kimmie Mathis, Sam Perryman, and Cedric Dawkins.
