Annie S. Peterman, a resident of Taylor, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2019. She was 81.
Graveside Services will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 in Clark Cemetery with Pastor David Temples and Pastor Pat Andrews officiating and Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Wiregrass Humane Society, 255 Jerry Dr., Dothan, AL 36303 or to Westwood Presbyterian Church, 5480 West Main St., Dothan, AL 36305.
Annie was born on August 6, 1937 in Pensacola, FL and lived there the early years of her life. She moved to Dothan in 1971 with her husband and traveled extensively with him during his military service. While raising her 5 children, she was the Southern Regional Manager for Weight Watchers. After her employment with Weight Watchers, she became employed with the Houston County Sheriff's Office until her retirement. Mrs. Peterman enjoyed working on puzzles, traveling with her family and her senior trips group, and loved her coffee. She attended Westwood Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Peterman was preceded in death by her two husbands, Aubrey J. Peterman and Ronald Simmerman; her parents, Vera and James Smith; her children, James and Jeffery Peterman; her brothers, James M. Smith, John B. Smith, Paul Betterton, Patrick Dunn and Gary Betterton; her sister, Margaret Qualls and Patricia Holloway.
Annie is survived by her daughters, Joyce (Chuck) Riley of Taylor, Karen (Trant) Bullard of Dothan, and Kathy (Billy) Lawrence of Newville; her sisters, Lynn Adams of Eufaula, Avis (Robert) Lunsford of Milton, FL, and Mavis Hicks of Ponce de Leon, FL; her 8 grandchildren; and her 12 great-grandchildren.
