Date of Service: A Celebration of Anthony’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. for visitation and 4:00 p.m. for the memorial, on Friday, March 13, 2020 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with Reverend John Smith officiating.

Anthony F. Algarin, passed away on March 7, 2020, at the age of 57 years; he was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend.


A native of Dothan, Anthony served the US. Navy for 20 years. During this chapter of his life he distinguish himself and performed duties as Landing Craft Air Cushion Operator and Aviation Gas Turbine Mechanic. After transitioning from the military, he continued developing his professional life as a Mechanic Engineer for General Electric (GE) and as an Installation Commissioning Engineer for FieldCore Corporation. He attended the East Coast Polytechnic Institute University of Virginia, graduating with a Bachelor degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.


In 1980 he began his military career with the U.S. Navy where he achieved the rank of Chief Petty Officer before retiring in August of 2000. During this journey, he had the opportunity to serve aboard an array of Naval vessels where he supported operation in the Pacific, Mediterranean and Atlantic Ocean.


Anthony’s professional tenure with General Electric and FieldCore began in September 2000 until August 2018. This included multiple position within the continental United States that extended to a plethora of countries to include the continent of Africa, Europe and South America.


He is preceded by his late Mother and Stepfather, Mrs. Martha Monet and Mr. David Ducker.


He is survived by Father Felix Algarin and Stepmother Alcadia Plaza; his siblings, Cynthia Algarin Harrison (Shane), David Algarin (Shannon), Fidel Algarin, Leslie Algarin, Monica Algarin and Felix Algarin; his seven children, Kate Zuleika Algarin (Antonio), Anthony Luiz Algarin (Beatrice), Cristian John Algarin (Melissa) Loren Cooper, Mercedes Rachel Algarin, Kiamarah Algarin, Felix Algarin; and 15 grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.
