HEADLAND. . .Anthony Ward “Tony” Lowman, a resident of Headland, died Wednesday afternoon, January 17, 2018, at his home. He was 51.


            Funeral services, with military honors, will be held at 2:30 P.M. Saturday, January 20, 2018, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Joey Hudspeth officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30  until 2:30 P.M. Saturday at the mortuary.


            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675 or a veteran’s organization of your choice.


            Tony Lowman was born in West Palm Beach, Florida and was reared in Coffee Springs, Alabama. He was a 1985 graduate of Enterprise High School. Tony served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of Desert Storm. He was retired from the Southern Company at the Joseph M. Farley Plant, near Columbia. Tony shared a birthday with a great aunt, Rillie Simmons, who turned 103 on January 16, 2018.


            Surviving relatives include his wife, Sharie Koach Lowman; four sons, Stephen Lowman, Christopher Lowman, PV2 Jesse Lowman and Tac Anthony Torres; his parents, Ward Lowman (SFC, U.S. Army, Retired) and Janice Anderson Lowman, Coffee Springs; a granddaughter, Lennox Lowman; two sisters, Amy S. Graf, Enterprise; and Angie Colwell (Tracy), Tallahassee; Florida; a brother, Michael A. Lowman (Barbie), Coffee Springs; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Stephen F. Koach (Major, U.S. Army, Retired), and Marie Koach, Enterprise; sisters-in-law, Heather Lowrey (Jason), Dubai, UAE; Kristin Smith (Jeremy, SSG, U.S. Army), Ft. Polk, LA; nieces, Crystal Lowman, Brianna L. Campbell, Shelby Kyser, Madelyn Suzanne Graf and Tyler Marie Smith; nephews, Matt Sasser, Michael Sasser, Taylor Kyser, Keenan Colwell (Madelaine), Kalen Colwell and Siegen Smith; a great-niece, Tristin Caldwell, a great-nephew, Phillip Campbell; his best friend and partner in crime, Joe Hancock.
