ARLENE  WILLIAMS  WHITEHEAD

SHORTERVILLE. . .Arlene Williams Whitehead, a resident of Shorterville, died unexpectedly Saturday morning, August 4, 2018, at her home. She was 64.

            Graveside services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Monday, August 6, 2018, in the Shorterville Baptist Church Cemetery with Johnny Littlefield officiating. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 3:50 P.M. Monday in the sanctuary of the Shorterville Baptist Church.

            Arlene Whitehead was born in Cordele, GA and was raised in Dawson, GA, daughter of the late Richard Weakley Williams and Emma Marie Hart Williams. She moved to the Shorterville area in 1988. Arlene was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Williams.

            Surviving relatives include her husband, David Wendell Whitehead; two daughters, Anna Maria Harris (Jason), Fadette, AL; and Christine Fleming, Abbeville; two sons, Joe Barfield, Jr (Sheila), Arlington, GA; and Justin Reynolds (Amanda), Shorterville; a step-son, David B. Whitehead (Jennifer Burritt), Dothan; a sister, Peggy Harnage (Carol), Americus, GA; a brother, Jack Williams (Terri), Shorterville; nine grandchildren, Suzette Nolin, Kaci Nolin, Mary Whitehead, Avanna Reynolds, Bradley Reynolds, Sarah Whitehead, Emily Reynolds, Ali Whitehead and Ella Nelson; four great-grandchildren.

            Serving as active pallbearers will be Justin Reynolds, Joe Barfield, Jason Harris, Dave Whitehead, Brandon Farris, Josh Kennedy and Bradley Reynolds.
