Arnold “Arnie” Begley

 

Arnold Begley, a resident of Dothan, died Saturday, August 25, 2012, at his residence. He was 70.

 

Funeral services will be held at Antwerp Bethel Church in Antwerp, Ohio, at a later date.

 

Mr. Arnold was born April 9, 1942, in Dry Hill, KY and proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corp. He took great pride in his ability to perform exceptional body work on cars. He had a love of cars and trains and was known by his family and friends as being very generous to everyone he met.

 

Mr. Begley was preceded in death by his wife, Martha and Step-daughter, Gena Lantow, his parents, Julius and Esther Begley, a brother, Michael Lynn “Pink” Begley, four sisters, Coteal Lee, Lorene Gordon, Barbara Guyton, and Bernadyne Rodgers.

 

Survivors include two sons, Shane Begley and Chad (Kris) Lantow; four brothers, Paul (Ruby) Begley, Gray, KY, Jim (Jean) Begley, Titusville, FL, Dave (Linda) Begley, Payne, OH, and Bruce “Butch” (Janet) Begley, Cape Canaveral, FL; two sisters, Mildred “Mick” (Gene) Shoenauer and Dianne Farling, both of Payne, OH; three grandchildren, Sarah, Katlin and Thomas Lantow; Arnold also has a dear friend, companion and caregiver, Martha Prescott.

 

After a long battle with cancer, we would all like to thank Southern Care Hospice and nurse, Sherry Hughes, for all the care, love and attention that was shown.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southern Care Hospice, 2576 Montgomery Highway, Suite 2, Dothan, AL 36303.
