Arnold Kay Davis, 68, of Wicksburg, AL passed away Saturday, June 6, 2015 at a local hospital.
Funeral services will be 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ray Jones officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 3-5:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Arnold was born January 18, 1947 in Lagrange, GA to the late Roy H. and Lillian Mae England Davis. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps after his best friend was drafted and served two tours in Vietnam as a Demolition Engineer with the 3rd Engineering Battalion/3rd Marine Division. He earned the Vietnam Service Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, the Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Presidential Unit Citation. Arnold was a Master Brick Mason and was retired after over 40 years of service to the commercial and residential construction industry. He was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. He loved to work and loved to make people laugh...He will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his wife Debra Marie Davis; children, Jennifer Kauffman, Erin (JP) Sides, and Mary Elizabeth Davis; a grandson Dustin (Samantha) Thomley; step-children, Keith (Nicole) Simon, Shaun (Amanda) Simon, and Justin (Kristin) Simon; his adopted mason son, Edward Charles Knight; grandchildren who he truly loved and adored, Nadia Kauffman, Justus Sides, Kynslee Simon, Libby Martin, and Carlee Martin; and he became "Great" with Amelia Thomley and Hunter Eubanks; brothers and sisters, Ray Davis, Fay Davisson, Glen Lee, Kenneth Canty, and Nancy Knight; special extended family and friends, the Wheeless Family and the Glover Family.
Serving as pallbearers will be Reginald Glover, Marvin Wheeless, Jonathan Wheeless, Dustin Thomley, David England, and Brannon "Bubba" England.
