Arthur James Skoda
Arthur James Skoda, of Ozark, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Dale Medical Center. He was 91.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dave Witt officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens and Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time Wednesday morning.

Mr. Skoda was born September 24, 1923 in Clarkson, NE where he and his brother, Lloyd, and sister, Erma, were raised on a farm. He attended school and worked the farm in the early depression years, later pursuing a career in the military for 26 years. He served in the WWII era, Korean Conflict era, Vietnam era, and peace time. During his duties, Mr. Skoda received many commendations including the Bronze Star.
Arthur enjoyed the outdoors. He loved to grow his own vegetables, hunt turkeys and deer, and go fishing on a beautiful spring day. He was known at Ft. Rucker as the great white hunter. He received an award for killing the largest buck in Ft. Rucker on December 22, 2008.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ingrid M. Skoda.
Survivors include his three children, Brigitte Ogden, Joe Skoda, and Carol Skoda; five grandchildren, Melanie Ogden, Jessica Skoda, Madison Skoda, Savanah Sundell, and Nicholas Sundell.
