ARTHUR TELLAS PRICE
EDWIN COMMUNITY. . .Arthur Tellas (Big A) Price, a resident of Edwin Community of Henry County, died Thursday, June 6, 2013, at his home. He was 71.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 8, 2013, in the Edwin United Methodist Church with Reverend Kenneth Preston officiating. Burial will follow in the Edwin Cemetery. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Saturday in the church sanctuary. At other times, the family will be at the home of a sister, Eleanor Volf in the Edwin Community.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family for funeral expenses, c/o Eleanor Volf, 185 County Road 235, Clopton, AL 36317.
Mr. Price was born and reared in the Edwin community where he lived most of his lifetime. He was a member of the Edwin United Methodist Church. Mr. Price was formerly employed as a Long Haul Truck Driver and in farming. He was also self employed as a mechanic. Mr. Price was preceded in death by his parents, Ivey T. Price and Evie Mae Tew Price, two sisters, Mary Ruth Smith and Betty Louann Toole and a brother, Joe Lee Price.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Carol Bell Price, Edwin Community; two step-daughters, Patti Clark, Austin, TX; and Michelle Atkinson, Wharton, TX; a step-son, Wayne Massey, Van Vleck, TX; three sisters, Eleanor Volf, Edwin Community; Peggy Boothe (Leamon), Gordon, AL; and Hilda Fay Hartzog (Richard), Midway, AL; a brother, Rufus Price, Edwin Community; six step-grandchildren, one step-great-granddaughter.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Buster Volf, David Price, Michael Price, Todd Boothe, Kyle Hartzog, Wayne Toole, Wayne Faulk, and Larry Hartzog.
