ASHLEY MARGARET CULPEPPER GRANT WAS BORN ON FEBRUARY 23, 1991, IN RED BANK, NEW JERSEY AND PASSED AWAY ON FEBRUARY 1, 2024, IN MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA. ASHLEY WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HER GRANDPARENTS SAMUEL AND MARY V. CULPEPPER, VERONICA T. SIMON AND RALPH M. SIMON.
SHE IS SURVIVED BY HER HUSBAND, WILLIAM BAKER GRANT AND MOTHER TO HER LATE DAUGHTER MARY MARGARET GRANT. SHE WAS THE DAUGHTER OF BRUCE AND MARGUERITE CULPEPPER AND SISTER TO ADDISON J. CULPEPPER. SHE WAS LOVED AND CHERISHED BY HER AUNTS, UNCLES AND COUSINS. ASHLEY IS THE DAUGHTER-IN-LAW OF EDGAR AND MARY GLEN GRANT, SISTER-IN-LAW TO WIN AND KAYLIN GRANT AND AUNT TO FRANCES AND FRAZER GRANT.
ASHLEY GRADUATED FROM THE AMERICAN SCHOOL OF THE HAGUE, IN WASSENAAR, THE NETHERLANDS. SHE ATTENDED AUBURN UNIVERSITY AND RECEIVED HER UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE IN AGRICULTURE COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE. SHE RECEIVED A MASTER DEGREE IN MASS COMMUNICATIONS AT LOUISIANA STATE UNIVERSITY, BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA.
WHILE ATTENDING COLLEGE, ASHLEY WAS EMPLOYED BY AUBURN UNIVERSITY AS THE SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER IN THE COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE. UPON GRADUATION, SHE WORKED FOR RANCH HOUSE DESIGNS, INC. AS THEIR CHIEF MARKETING OFFICER IN WHARTON, TEXAS. TRANSFERRING WITH HER HUSBAND BAKER TO LOUISIANA, SHE MOST RECENTLY WORKED FOR LOUISIANA STATE UNIVERSITY IN THE COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE AS ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF INTERNSHIPS AND STUDENT ENGAGEMENTS UNTIL HER UNTIMELY PASSING.
ASHLEY WAS A MEMBER OF ALPHA CHI OMEGA SORORITY AND CAPTAIN OF THE HOUSTON LIVESTOCK SHOW & RODEO RANCHING & WILDLIFE COMMITTEE. SHE LOVED TO TRAVEL AND LED STUDENTS ON A STUDY ABROAD TRIP TO EUROPE. HER LOVE OF AGRICULTURE AND ANIMALS LED HER TO PURSUE HER CAREER IN AGRICULTURE.
ASHLEY MET THE LOVE OF HER LIFE BAKER GRANT AT AUBURN UNIVERSITY AND MARRIED IN 2014. THEIR 10 YEARS TOGETHER WERE FILLED WITH TRAVEL, HARD WORK, AND RAISING THEIR CORGI SULLY. RELATIONSHIPS WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS WERE IMPORTANT TO ASHLEY. HER CARE AND CONCERN FOR HER STUDENTS AND HELPING THEM REACH THEIR POTENTIAL, WERE ALWAYS ASHLEY’S NUMBER ONE PRIORITY. SHE MOTHERED AND MENTORED MANY. ASHLEY’S SMILE AND LOVE OF LIFE LIT UP ANY ROOM SHE WAS IN.
RELATIVES AND FRIENDS ARE INVITED TO ATTEND SERVICES AT FRAZER CHURCH, 6000 ATLANTA HIGHWAY, MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA 36117. CELEBRATION OF LIFE SERVICE AT 3:00 PM IN CHAPEL WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS VISITATION IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING. PRIVATE INTERNMENT SERVICE WILL TAKE PLACE AT 3:00 PM ON SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 11, 2024, AT BEULAH BAPTIST CEMETERY, 3146 COUNTY ROAD 33, FYFFE, ALABAMA, 35971.
